Research Area

Juan Carlos' PhD focuses in understanding the effects of climate change on groundwater resources under multiple sources of uncertainty. His research involves developing new frameworks in hydrogeological modelling using multi-agent simulation to capture the complexity emerging from the interplay of human decisions, climate variability and groundwater. 

This research attempts to provide governments and decision makers with a new set of tools for intergrated water resources management under a changing climate.

Juan Carlos is under­tak­ing his doc­toral study in School of Civil and Envi­ron­men­tal Engi­neer­ing with super­vi­sion of Dr. Gregoire Mariethoz and co-supervision of Dr. Martin Andersen and Dr. Bryce Kelly since August 2012.
